Hydrogen Spreads Holiday Cheer With 12 Days of Giving “2”

12days-News-Day1

Hydrogen is once again breaking from traditional client holiday gifts and tchotchkes by making a donation each day for twelve business days, instead—on behalf of agency clients and friends—to benefit twelve different local, national and international aid organizations and causes.

This marks the second annual Hydrogen 12 Days of Giving holiday campaign, which started on Thursday, December 4th.

“Regifting never felt so good,” said Hydrogen executive creative director Mary Knight. “We had such a great response to this idea last year, we decided to ignore the ‘recycled idea’ taboo and bring it back with a new look and a dozen new causes.”

It all began on Day 1 with a gift of one ox and plow so a farmer can provide more food and allow children to attend school rather than work the fields, via Worldvision.org.

Twelve business days in a row a new gift will be announced to clients and friends via emails, and simultaneously revealed each day on the agency’s web site at www.old.1hydrogen.com/10079/12days2.

Hydrogen creative director Michael McGrath handled art direction and developed twelve original illustrations, one for each donation day. Writers included Knight and Noël Fountain. Haylie Ingman curated the donations and Brian McCartney handled digital development.

“It’s a total inside job, so the money can be spent where it really counts—on the people who need it,” said Hydrogen president Rick Peterson. “We’re grateful for all the great clients and friends the agency works with every day. This is our chance to honor each of them with what we think is the best gift of all—the gift of regiving to those in real need.”
