Hydrogen Goes Beachside for Crabfest

What do you call a sunny July 3rd in the Puget Sound? We call it Crabfest – our annual summer party. Hydrogen employees, families and friends took to the Fauntleroy ferry to peaceful Vashon Island, convening at co-founder Tom Scherer¹s beachfront abode.

Those who dared waded out at low tide to meet the crustaceans head on, collecting food and occasional pinches. Of course, an entourage of our favorite canines was there to help, as well. The sea provided a cool 50 crabs, ensuring there were no shortages of smiles to be had. For those who preferred their meal to be claw-free, barbecued chicken was prepared, in addition to an offering of delicious dishes, beer and wine.

Other activities included beachcombing and a trip to the nearby sand dunes, where everyone’s climbing abilities were put to the test. (Bogey, the office Chihuahua, displayed an exceptional performance.)
