The world’s most-entered awards show The American Advertising Awards, launched a new national campaign for its annual call-for-entries season. Hydrogen, the advertising agency responsible for the show’s creative since 2012, has created an “encore” of last year’s successful American flag campaign.

As it was last year, the flag is an original illustration created for AAF. It consists of last year’s award-winning ideas and serves as the centerpiece for all national online and print messages.

“With close to 200 local chapters, it was important to have an idea that could rally creatives everywhere,” said Mary Knight, executive creative director at Hydrogen. “The flag allows us to honor the great work done in our country—in a 100% American way.”

Greg Branch and George Riddell of the American Advertising Awards Committee partnered with Hydrogen to develop this year’s campaign. “Last year’s campaign was highly successful at boosting entries,” said Riddell. “Hydrogen has built on the success of last year’s campaign while delivering a unique, new twist on the flag for 2015.”

Creative credits include Knight, executive creative director, Michael McGrath, creative director/art director, Noël Fountain, copywriter and illustrator, Brian McCartney, digital production and Pirkko Terao, print production.

The American Advertising Awards is the world’s largest advertising competition with nearly 40,000 entries annually. Founded in Florida in 1960, it was adopted by the American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association, as a national competition in 1968.

The American Advertising Awards is unique among other advertising creative competitions in that it is the only competition that includes three levels of judging: local, district, and national. Winning an ADDY® Award at each level qualifies the work to progress to the next higher level. Awards presented are Gold and Silver ADDY Awards for professional and student entries. The 2015 National American Advertising Award Show will be June 13th in Las Vegas, NV. For more information visit www.AmericanAdvertisingAwards.com.
